Trued Ortmann tires
The rear axle is fitted with perfectly fitting Ortmann tires, and the entire axle assembly is then sanded flat in the RSM tire truer. This is the minimum tuning to ensure the car is fun to drive.
Tuningset Drift
The Carrera cars also drive very well without a magnet. While the magnet allows for high cornering speeds, it also means the car has no limit. Without a magnet, it's more up to the driver. However, trued Ortmann tires are required, and for better control of the steering keel, special thin Zero Grip tires on the front axle are required, if appropriate. The rear magnet is removed. All removed parts are included, and the magnets can be easily reinstalled if necessary.
Tuningset Power
If we want to go really fast, we need a faster motor. 25,000 rpm is perfectly adequate for most tracks. However, since the transmission isn't designed for the more powerful motor, the axle, bearings, and crown gear are being replaced with Slot.it components. We'll also add trued Ortmann tires and thinner Zero Gripp tires for the front axle, if appropriate.
Changing the inlet
By replacing the original cockpit with a 2D photo inlet, weight can be saved and the center of gravity lowered without any major visual compromises.
Run in the engine
We run the engine in at low voltage for several hours without load. This allows the engine speed to increase by up to 10%. The less reliable the engine (e.g., a Carrera E200), the more effective the run-in process will be.
Running the car
This involves slowly running in the motor and gearbox at low voltage. The axle is then cleaned, the gearbox is greased, and the bearings are oiled.
